One of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. The Pad Thai is really really good & the staff is super nice :) Highly recommended!
(5)Amy N.
Great food and service! The staff were very prompt and nice. Ordered the Pad Gra Pow with chicken and Massaman curry with chicken from the lunch special menu. Along with the main entree came with either a side salad or soup and also two fried wontons with sauce. Everything had great flavors. Would definitely order both entrees again. Although flavor and portion wise, I feel like you get more with the Massaman curry than you do the Pad Gra Pow. Definitely will be coming back to try other menu items.

I took my friend there before i dropped her off at the airport. We ordered the beef Pai-Kee-Mao and Pumpkin curry(from lunch special menu). Both tasted Excellent. They have lunch special menu which includes a main dish, steamed rice or fried nice, and one house salad or soup of the day(only $6.99). I would strongly recommand this place. I really love the friendly service there. The only thing I didnt like is that the Thai tea was a little bit over sweet. But overall it is a nice place to have lunch.
(5)Brian S.
The reviews here are spot on! Been here a few times for the lunch special. I like the yellow curry. Service here is great but you may want to come a little before or after the lunch rush. I was blown away with how good the coconut mango rice was....You must try this!
(5)Mary W.
Nice servers and decent food. For the lunch price you can't beat it but there are a few other Thai places I would go to first. It was good but I'll stick to Thai Mango.
(4)Stan L.
Totally screwed up our take out order, then argued about it when I called back to correct it. She offered no apologies so we will never return.
(1)Scott F.
This place is excellent! Been here a few times and have loved everything I've tried. Curry is good and reasonably priced.
(5)Scott R.
This place is amazing! Excellent, friendly service. Hot, fresh food. I have been searching for Thai food in Salt Lake that is as good as what I love in Seattle. This is it! Highly recommend the Yellow Curry, Pad Ke Mow, Chow Mein and shrimp in a blanket. The pot stickers are so good!
(5)Kevin L.
When it comes to value, it doesn't get any better than Red Basil Thai Bistro. Forget the fact that their lunch special with entree, soup or salad, and 2 wontons is not only 7 dollars, the food and service is excellent as well. My favorites for lunch special are Pad Ka Prow Chicken (you can substitute different meat as well) and Massaman Curry. Another appetizer that I really like are the deep-fried tofu and for those who like Thai Iced Tea, they give a generous amount. The only con I can possibly think of is that it may be difficult to find parking, but that's honestly just grasping at straws. I come here once or twice every two weeks and have been satisfied every time.

This place has got to be one of the best Thai spots in the area. Hands down. I had my order to-go & the lady behind the counter was really sweet & patient, always a plus especially during a long work day. I ordered; - Thai iced tea: just the right sweetness! It was huge! - Green curry lunch portion for 7 bucks was a steal! I wanted the spiciest curry & the lady suggested the green with their spiciest level. It was quite delicious! They also didn't skimp on portion. It came with a salad or soup & white rice or fried rice. - My son had the Thai fried rice with tofu. He loved it so much he tried to save it so he would have some for dinner. - The CRAB fried rice was sooooooooo good! Perfection. Ordered it with a tad bit of spice. My husband who doesn't like Thai very much loved it! We have been craving it ever since. It had so much actual crab flavor without tasting just like the ocean. Also had generous bits of crab throughout the dish. Writing about it makes me hungry!
(5)Dennis D.
The food was excellent and the service was great! I would defiantly recommend thus restaurant. What impressed me even more was I over heard the server waiting on the two men behind me, they were in the military, when they asked for the check he said "it is on the house and thank you!" Great job!
(5)Tin S.
Love the fact that they give fried rice for lunch. Very good lunch menu with soup, fried rice and curry. Taste is 4 stars. But overall 5 stars considering the price. I wish they had fried rice for dinner also as i dont order 2 dishes as it is lot.
(5)Kat N.
My husband and I tried this place based on the other reviews, and it did not disappoint! One of the best meals we've had in a long time, and possibly the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at. The wait staff was friendly and personable, the food came out quickly, and it was absolutely delicious with the right about of spicy. Add to that the $7 lunch combo, and we will definitely be coming back again. And again.
(5)Brittney N.
I really want to give this place 3 1/2 stars, but I'm going to round up because I want to promote non-chain family run restaurants. There are plenty of Thai places in the valley, and for the most part, they all seem pretty similar. The dishes are similar, the flavors are similar, and the prices are similar. The one thing I have noticed is that the portions vary greatly from establishment to establishment. You may pay the same price for a bowl of Curry and get half the portion depending on where you go. That being said, I think that this place is about middle of the road. You aren't going to get a ton of food, but ordering two dishes should be good enough for two people to share. The flavors here are fresh and seem very authentic. The service was friendly, albeit a little slow. Overall a great little Thai spot. One word of caution. Most Thai places have dumbed down the spicy for the American pallet. We ordered the red Curry mild and were still sweating after. So if you are not a fan of spicy, make sure you ask the server how the dish comes in its mild form.
(4)Danny L.
I've been here several times and have been impressed each time. I enjoy the family atmosphere and the friendly service. Dishes tried: Pad see ew (excellent) Thai basil chicken (very good) Pros: Excellent food quality Lunch specials are nice Friendly service Locally owned Con's: None so far

This place is great!! Stopped in around 4:30 on a Thursday and it was surprisingly busy for the time, and I soon found out why. The server was really nice and helpful, told us some of the most popular items and some of his personal favorites. He kept our waters full and checked in occasionally to make sure we were doing alright. My husband and I split the Chicken Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry and both were delicious. Pad Thai is my absolute favorite, but that curry was down right amazing!! Creamy with a could amount of spice. Both dishes had generous portions and were more than enough to fill up on. The Pad Thai had a lot of carrots and sprouts, which was nice because some places skimp on the vegies. The noodles in the dish were a little different, wider, than usual but still really good. The dish was also a little less sweet than most places and I liked that a lot. The prices are really reasonable, they have a large lunch menu special for 6.99 that I will for sure be back to check out.
(5)Crystal H.
I was craving Pad Thai, so I decided to check out Red Basil Thai Bistro. I heard that they have great lunch specials, but for dinner it is a bit more expensive. We ordered the egg rolls as an appetizer and the egg rolls were not as big as I would have hoped, but were still good. Then our pad thai came, and the color of the pad thai was not what I had expected. The color of the pad thai was very light and did not have a vibrant orange/red color. Once I tried it, the flavor was not very strong, and therefore we asked for more sauce on the side, and once I added that in, it tasted more like pad thai. Next time I come back, I'll just ask the server to put in more sauce to make the flavor a bit more stronger.
(3)Brad Z.
This place far exceeded my expectations on every level. It seems most Thai places are lacking on customer service, not here. I was greeted promptly and seated. The wait staff was very attentive, my drink was never empty or even close to being empty. When I asked for a box for the leftover spring rolls they even made sure to wrap them in plastic for me so the rice noodle wrap wouldn't dry out and harden. The food was amazing! It came to the table quickly and was spiced perfectly. I asked for the fresh spring rolls to be vegetation and it wasn't a problem at all. I ordered the massaman curry and it was spectacular. The carrots, potatoes, and onions were cooked just right, not mushy not raw. The flavor was a perfect subtle blend of spices and vegetables. I will definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends!
(4)Joe Y.
Location: next to a KFC in the back corner. Spicy level: mild, medium, American, Thai. Ordered off the $7 lunch menu Green Curry with beef it came with soup and couple wontons. Medium spice was just right and the friendly staff recommended #6 Pad Ka Prow so I will be back for that next time.
(4)Tiffany H.
My husband and I found this cute place because he plays video games with one of the owners and one day we decided to go in. We have been hooked ever since. We live downtown and drive to West Jordan at least once a week to enjoy the Pad Ka Prow and Red Pumpkin Curry. Their house dressing is delicious and the service is always excellent. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic and decent priced Thai food.
(5)Belange H.
Decided to venture out from our usual Thai places for dinner, and sure glad we did!!! The place is located in a strip mall and quite quaint and cozy. Our favorite dishes were the eggplant stir fry, pad Thai, lad naa, red curry pumpkin, and waterfall beef salad. Dishes also had generous portions of meat and flavor. Our server was also very friendly and helpful. 5 stars for service! Only gripes about this place were the sticky condiment jars and overly sweet rice custard dessert. Overall, we cannot wait to come back for great food and great service!
(4)Stephanie Noelle M.
I absolutely love theremango sticky rice. Everything else,I have tried is amazing too!! So close to my house!!
(5)Nate M.
Liked this place, especially for the price. $6.99 for Massaman Curry, a side salad and 2 won tons. Glad I found this place via Yelp.
(4)Glorimar B.
Amazing food, the waitress was so attentive and made an effort to find something I would like once I told her we were from Texas. The Kua Kai noodles are so good and the yellow curry as well. Will be back for sure!!
(5)Bryan C.
We had Tom Kah, Pad Siew, Massaman Curry, and Fresh Spring Rolls. All were outstanding. The service here is amazing too, and the prices are very reasonable. Hands down the best Thai food I've had in many years in Utah. They did serve the fresh rolls with Hoisin peanut sauce, which isn't my first choice, but it was quite tasty.
(5)Mckayli A.
The best Thai restaurant in the state of Utah. I have never gotten a dish here I didn't like. The pad pik king and the massaman are our go to dishes and the satay is divine. It's seriously amazing.
(5)Amanda V.
Ordered take out here and waited in the place while they made it. The host at the front had the best customer service and was so sweet. She ran the front and waited on all of the people in the place. I loved the food here but honestly when I go back it will be to see the sweet lady at the front and then to eat!
(5)David G.
The Red Pumpkin Curry is amazing, seriously the best that I've tried to date. Some of the reviews that I've seen for this restaurant are "middle of the road" based on cost and portion sizes. I can attest that I've never left hungry with a single entree and I can assure you that nothing about this restaurant is "middle of the road". There are many very distinct and discerning touches to their dishes. Less obvious things are the quality and simplicity here, such as the soups and the noticeably serious attention to detail with things such as perfectly prepared rice, presentation and garnish, a hint of spice in the satay sauce, fresh and generous amounts of vegetables, using fresh Thai chills rather than dried and crushed or powders everything makes for a dining experience that is a cut above your average Thai restaurant. The service is spectacular, it's family owned and operated, I love local businesses that are passionate about what they are doing. The lunch specials are a great value! If you're on the fence about giving his restaurant a try, just do it! You won't be disappointed. This place is a diamond in the rough don't miss out!
(5)Sovatdy C.
Our go to spot for Thai! It's a little mom and pop type restaurant, so the decor isn't fancy but the service is always great and friendly. Fav thing about the place is of course, the food! So far I've loved everything I've tried. My regulars are the nam tok (waterfall beef) and the crab fried rice. Recently tried their beef pad see ew, and that's now my new fav there! I like how their foods aren't super sweet like some Thai places I've gone to. Bonus- they've spruced up their decor! You can actually tell you're in a Thai restaurant now with the snapshots of Thai street food on the walls and Thai tour guide books at the tables.
(5)Eugene P.
So delicious! I can't go to any other Thai restaurant anymore. This place brings me back every single time. My usual picks are Chicken Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodle) and Massaman beef curry. Generous amount of food and over the top friendliness makes this place the best. The only complain I have is that they are really busy during lunch time and there's only one server for almost 20 tables. Hope they find some help soon! Other than that, this place is A must try!
(4)Jeffrey Z.
For the price the portions could be bigger. The hotness of the curry upon request is where it should be at for a Thai Restuarant. I wasn't much of a fan for the Pad Thai or Fried Rice. The curry plates were pretty decent, but I felt they lacked slightly in flavor in most areas. My favorite dish that makes the family and I come back is the Tom Yum Chicken Soup (Hot & Sour). The flavor of the soup is on point and depending on how hot you get it, it will help with any cold especially a stuffy nose!
(3)Serena S.
Best Thai food in Utah. Reasonable prices, great portions and amazing flavor. I like my Thai spicy and they gladly oblige.
(5)Susan L.
The curry dishes are always on point. My new place to get pad thai since thai delight closed down. The food is really great but upset because the last time I went in there the lady offered us the mango sticky rice dish and said she could do two for one. After eating our food, the total qas around $40. She had charged us doubled I stead of the two for one. Realy disappointed, on top of that we only ordered pad thai and the curry. It was misleading and we were over charged. We are regulars so we usually get the regular meals but not going there anymore. New place for us is pho bien hoa down the street.

Wow, no kidding, South Jordan continues to surprise! This time it's little Red Basil Thai Bistro, nestled in an unassuming strip mall at the northeast corner do Redwood Road and 90th South. It seems like there are a million Thai places nowadays in the Greater SLC area, and many of them are substandard. Not Red Basil Thai. I ordered the garlic ginger chicken lunch special, which came with a soup of the day side, "turnip soup". The soup was delicious. The broth was substantial, very well made. Lots of thin slices of properly cooked daikon radish were accompanied by some small bits of meat. My entree was simple, consisting of thinly sliced chicken breast pieces stir fried in garlic and ginger, with lightly cooked white onion slices added in for flavor and texture. I had a side of fried rice, which was also very nice. Overall, this was a very quick and pleasant meal. The service was also great. The wait staff was very attentive. The waitress had initially mistakenly put out the wrong dishes in front of us. The gentleman working behind the counter quickly and apologetically corrected the situation before we had really even noticed. Thumbs up for these guys!
(4)Diane S.
First time there today. Excellent. Lunch specials are more than enough food and good selection. Service was outstanding. Very busy for lunch on a Saturday. That's always a good sign.
(5)Monica B.
This restaurant really surprised me! I came here the other day with my family and we absolutely loved the food. My mom is Thai and cooks amazing Thai food, and even she was impressed! We ordered Lad Naa , Pad Siew, and Massaman Curry. Both noodle dishes were delicious and my sister really liked the curry. My mom kept telling the owner, Gong, how the Lad Naa tastes just like back home! For desert, we shared sticky rice with custard which was also very good. Price wise, this place can not be beat! We ordered a lunch special (which came with a salad), 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and a desert for a total of $31.45. This fed 4 adults, one toddler, and we had left overs (which later fed the hubs for dinner). This place is awesome.

Stumbled upon Red Basil Thai Bistro while searching for a GameStop... Yeah we were bored. Greatest side trip of the last month here in Utah. It was a quiet night there so we had the place to ourselves for a while and we asked about some of the menu items. If you are undecided, you will be lead down the right path. With a few questions, we knew what we had to try. Angel Wings...were out of stock so we have to wait until next time. Shrimp in a Blanket fried up in won ton wrap perfectly. Not very greasy and the shrimp was tender. Cooked just right for us. Papaya salad was excellent, clearly the winner that night. We kept going back and picking on it (That Hot) even if it hurt. Nothing was limp or mushy, great texture to go along with the flavor. Order it, eat it, love it. Just maybe not as hot. Green Curry w/chicken (Thai Hot) was very nice. I like basil so I had to try this. Usually coconut milk does not agree with me... but this one was not overpowering. Creamy enough to slow down the heat, but it was not the dominant flavor. The big man wants to try this next, maybe with shrimp. Massaman Curry w/beef (Thai Hot) turned out very good. Liked the flavors again, and the smell as it came from the kitchen. The big man was happy, and this might be my choice next time we make it over there. Pineapple Fried Rice w/Shrimp (Medium) surprised me. Usually I am against most things with pineapple, as they keep using it in dishes to make it "Hawaiian". The fried rice came out light, not greasy. Medium was a good choice since it did not mask the shrimp and pineapple flavors. Would definitely recommend this to anyone on the fence. Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea saved the day. If you noticed, we thought Thai Hot was a good idea. For sure I would do it again, but it is disturbing when the server and the cook come to check on us every few minutes to make sure it was not too hot. The coffee and tea cooled us off enough to make it through the night. I must state again, Thai Hot is no joke here. I do not think they get many requests for that, everyone else seemed to be getting mild. Not sure if they were excited and wanted to see who the crazy people were, or were really sorry we were sweating. Cute little place with good food and service. I can not wait for our next trip here.
(5)David P.
Came here with a group. We got Massaman, Pan Ang, and the Pineapple curry, along with shrimp Pad Thai and fried rice. Everything was great! This is real deal Thai food. Get the mango with sticky rice for dessert. Everything is just really good.
(5)Haley T.
The food was great and the service was even better! I haven't had a dining experience as enjoyable as this in a long time. The owner Brandon was so welcoming and helped us know what to order and it was so delicious. Plus it was quick and clean. Such a great find. We will definitely come back.
(5)Guy P.
Found this place on yelp, and decided to try it after a late night at work. I ordered the yellow curry and it was delicious. More curry flavor than most Thai places and perfect at a medium spice. I'll definitely be back. GP
(4)Xinmiao L.
Ok, I hate to mark the new place down but the food we ordered was just too fishy. We past this place couple times because we likes to go to the village baker which it is next door. The owners was really nice, greet us and opened the door for us. We really appreciated it. So we ordered Pad Gra Prow, Pad Thai and Fried Spring Roll. Pad gra prow was not we expected and taste like a regular stir fry without much flavorings. Pad Thai was really fishy! I do know fish sauce is the main ingredient in Asian cooking but it was overwhelming. And so was the fried spring roll's dipping sauce. It was unexpectedly fishy too. The fried spring rolls were fine but just the sauce. Oh yeah, not sure if I shall tell you this or not but hmm... don't watch Jackass while you are eating fishy food. Seriously don't. Lol Well, it is a new restaurant and they might still working on their menu and recipes. Never know, they might get better in the future.
(3)Brandon W.
Excellent Thai in SLC! The Laab is great, as well as the Pad Thai and Massaman. Will be back.
(5)Rob H.
I have tried at least a dozen Thai restaurants and this is my favorite! Great service and the curries are delicious.
(5)Norm C.
Good tip from Yelp. Our meals were absolutely delicious. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Will dine there again.
(5)Ansley D.
Absolutely love this place. Doesn't matter if it's take out or dine in, the food is always amazing. Great service and authentic taste! We've tried almost every curry and they are all great. My favorite is the yellow curry! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
(5)Heidi F.
After stopping in for lunch on our first day in town, we just couldn't get enough. So good that we came back for dinner on another night of our trip in SLC.
(5)Bryson H.
Best Thai food ever. Service is amazing and the staff always make you feel welcome. Prices are great and the food quality is excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Kipp G.
Great food and awesome service! My favorite is the yellow curry! Great value and I love supporting local business.
(5)Sam S.
My wife kept bugging me to try this Thai restaurant by her work, so one day for lunch we went to Red Basil Thai Bistro. In short, the food was great. That's all. What more do you need to know right? My wife ordered the Pad kee mao with pork and I ordered the yellow curry, medium spicy with chicken. Both of our dishes were delicious. My yellow curry had a great flavor, just enough spicy and the chicken was tender and cooked just right. Our meals included a small appetizer and big portions of food for only $7. With regards to the food Red Basil Thai Bistro gets five stars. Their food is great. But where they are really lacking is in appearance. What Red Basil Thai Bistro needs to do is remodel and redecorate the whole restaurant. The walls are painted orange and white, there is a whole section with fake brick paneling, there are weird paintings of an Italian cafe on the walls, and the seating consist of old benches and tables, like the kind you'd see in a Subway restaurant. Remodeling the restaurant would definitely improve it's image and make Red Basil Thai Bistro a whole lot nicer.
(4)Ameilia Q.
This place is ok, not the best Thai but it is conveniently located for those in Sandy/West Jordan. The curry's have good flavor and you can spice up your curry order; however, I would like to see more veggies in the currys.
(3)Todd C.
Red Basil is part of my four restaurant Thai restaurant rotation. When we are anywhere west of state street and south of 7800 S, this is the stop. I love their lunch specials and you can't go wrong with a yellow or massaman curry. The salad that comes with the meal is always fresh and tasty. The usual waiter is over the top nice and always accommodating. Thanks Red Basil!
(4)Justin J.
Unreal! I'm a very big Thai fan and this place is amazing! I recommend the massaman beef curry, it's one of the best I've ever had. They have 4 different levels of spice that you can choose so choose wisely because they aren't afraid to give it some kick. They have a lunch special for $6.95 that comes with a large portion of food and hits the spot every time.
(5)Connor K.
I would have given this a 5 star last time I came but it was different this time. Really deserves 3 but because of last time I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Service: last time I came I was with my uncle and our food and drinks were always quickly delivered to us. This time I came by myself and the service was horrible. I'm nineteen so I think sometimes people think I won't tip so they serve me bad. They'd be wrong. I can understand the slowness though because it was really busy and fifteen minutes after I got in someone got a box of takeout. Like a huge box. But twenty minutes without a word or food is not ok. Food: great food. I get the massaman curry with steamed rice. Good flavor nice chicken the potatoes in the curry were really tender. And a lot of food for what you pay for. The soup is excellent as well I got the special for the day coconut chicken. What I don't like about the food is in the lunch special you get these "wantons" and really its like a deep fried chip. Wish they would have more cream cheese in them. Atmosphere: I like that there is a window so you can see the cooks hustling in the back but this place is ghetto. I mean like West Valley ghetto. It feels like you are in a 1980's subway. Needs a little sprucing up. Would be hard to find if you didn't know where it was also as there is only a little sign. All in all Bad Service, Good Food, atleast for this visit. Tip Rate .005%

Remember the scene in Cheers where everyone would shout "Norm" whenever that character would enter? I feel the same whenever the owners and staff welcome me at the Red Basil which has become a favorite bistro for fine food and excellent service. As an example I told Brandon, one of the owners he should carry low sodium soy sauce since I thought the regular was too salty for my taste. On my third visit in two weeks he proudly brought an unopened bottle of green top soy sauce to our table. How crazy is that? How good id the food? I have fallen hard for their Massaman curry which I favor just slightly over the yellow curry. I am currently working my way through the entire menu but have not been disappointed yet. We have even purchased the House Honey Mustard dressing by the take home container. The Killer deal has to be their Lunch Special for just $6.99 when you het choice of curry, two wontons, rice and choice of green salad or soup of the day. Plus you can order a bottomless fountain drink for just $1 with the special. The food is available in four ascending levels of spice heat from Mild past American Hot to Thai Hot. Although it gets busy at lunch the wait staff is always ready to refill your drink or bus your table. This is a true treasure in a strip mall they share with GrayWhale, Village Baker and just down from KFC and A&W on the north side of 9000 South. Be sure to ask for the green-top soy sauce.

My roommate said he picked this place because it had so few reviews. He thinks that means people are too satisfied to be bothered to type up a review. Whatever. He treated me to carry out, and I played it safe with Pad Thai. And it was easily the best Pad Thai I've had. My other overly picky roommate even gave her stamp of approval. This is definitely my new go-to for Thai. I'm already thinking about what I'm going to try next week.
(5)Wendy H.
Always great service..waiters could not be nicer!!! Food is excellent. Pad si ew is the best!! Green and red curries are both excellent. Thai iced tea is great!! Coconut soup (can't remember the real name) is always super good. Perfect to hit on the way to a movie at Jordan landing.
(5)Nate P.
Red Basil has been a frequent stop for a couple of years now, discovered when a friend recommended Village Baker, a couple doors down. Always one more up for adventure than a sandwich, I ordered out there instead. Boy, am I glad I did. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere has gotten decidedly better over the years. The waitress (yes, there's only one) is not at all polished or experienced, and it can be difficult to understand her broken English at times. With that said, she is a real sweetheart and tries her hardest. It is the food that makes this place exceptional. The massman curry, the yellow curry, red curry, pad thai, and the fried rice dishes are all fantastic. The only dish I was disappointed by was the green curry. Not as much flavor as I typically like. My favorite part is that they'll cater to your degree of spiciness tolerance. They carry mild, medium, and "American hot," and Thai spicy as well. I will warn you, Thai spicy is not for the faint of tongue, but it is amazing. Red Basil is the only place I've ever found that will serve truly authentic spiciness to a white guy like me. :)

What a GREAT place! We stopped in here for dinner tonight and it was fantastic! From the moment we came thru the door they were so hospitable and kind. Very good assistance with the menu and explaining their cuisine. We settled on 3 dishes and shared them family style between the 3 of us. We got a yellow curry, massamancurry and also a sweet and sour pork with vegetables. We started off with pork egg rolls and they were very good. A nice dinner salad comes with your entrees and the salad dressing is very VERY yummy! All the food was incredibly fresh and the curry is out of this world! The service was great and our waitress was an absolute doll! She was so kind and attentive to us the entire evening. To end our meal we were tempted to get some of their desserts and we LOVED the Mango Sticky Rice dessert...it was FABULOUS and we will be back again! We had the opportunity to meet the owner and it was a pleasure to talk with her and let her know how impressed we are! It's a family run business and probably the best Thai we have ever had! Love to support local and family run businesses in our area!! So glad to find this gem in West Jordan! Look here for their menu redbasilthairestaurant.c…

We just ate here and the service was amazing! It's not very often that the owner of a restaurant will come out and talk to you and ask you how you liked the food. Traveling from out of town especially that was awesome to see. We really liked the food. The only reason I didn't 5 star this location is the food snob in me that wants to reserve that last star for an outrageous foodie experience, but all and all the food and service was really great, and if I lived in town I'm sure this would be a relationship I'd have for a long time with these people. P.S. I did not try the Pad Thai, but while I was there a manager of another restaurant came in and ordered a bunch for her staff raving it was the best! I guess that says something if another restaurant is ordering out their food here.
(4)Lauren S.
This is surprisingly good Thai and bonus, its cheap and the people are nice! This combination will always keep me coming back for more. Keep it up!
(5)Ernest B.
Best thai food in the south west valley of salt lake!

I can't say enough how delightful this place is. The owners are friendly and attentive, and the decor simple. Prices are spot on. The food... Oh the food is easily the best Thai I've had in years. No watery curries here, these are rich, complex, and you can almost taste the care and attention they put into them. The texture and depth of the Green curry is amazing, the Massaman delicious and satisfying. The egg drop soup is silky and wonderful, the coconut soup fantastic. I will definitely be back and I'm bringing friends!

I had a hint that this place was both authentic and good, from the all Thai staff with big smiles, but the real "Tell" was when they listed out the spice options: Mild, Medium, American Spicy or Thai Spicy! This little hole in the wall is the best Thai food I've had in Utah BY FAR! I just enjoyed the Red Curry Chicken with Pumpkin-DelisciousM
(5)Marcus B.
So umm... I always get medium spice when I get thai food. I got pad thai to go, and it is way to hot. I cant finish it all. I will have to remake it tomorrow. Kind of defeats the purpose of take out. Oh, and the lady was not very nice at the front either. Maybe I will go back and have a better experience
(2)K M.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I've been going since shortly after they opened about a year ago, and it just keeps getting better. My favorite is the green curry (medium spicy), and I love the house salad dressing.
(5)Greg N.
Great for lunch - authentic, friendly, fresh & tasty. Good noodles, nice & spicy the way I prefer them, and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The owner/cook even came out checked with us. Can't beat it for the price.

What an awesome little place! The food was SO good and we are definitely coming back. My wife and I went there for lunch for the first time today and we have already put their number in our phones. To try different things, my wife sampled the lunch menu and I ordered off of the dinner menu. For an appetizer, we ordered the egg rolls which were so good! The dipping sauce was really good and complimented the egg rolls really well. My wife ordered the massaman chicken curry lunch special (you can substitute meats on there, you don't have to get the massaman beef) and it came with egg drop soup (my wife said it wasn't the best, I tried some and it was a little off) and some fried rice (the fried rice was pretty good. It could have used some more seasoning. My wife dipped it in the massaman curry and loved it). It also came with these two fried wontons which had some meat in them. AWESOME! Her massaman curry was the BEST massaman curry we've had in a long time, it definitely beats out other thai places nearby. I got the pad thai noodles with shrimp and WOW it was great! The noodles had just the right seasoning and we both got generous portions. We definitely got our money's worth there. Not only is it good, but you get a lot of food. The prices were awesome too, the lunch special my wife got was $6.99 and mine was $8.99 because of the shrimp, but we would definitely go again. About 5 minutes after we were served out entrees the actual chef came out and greeted us and asked us how the meal was. I honestly had to shake his hand and thank him for giving us the best food we've had in a while. The atmosphere was awesome, they had cool paintings up and light music in the background. Drop whatever you are doing and get over to this awesome little shop and get some of the best thai food you have ever tried!

I eat here at least once a week. We have tried almost every item on the menu. All but one have been excellent. Enjoy!
And again.

(5)Li S.

(4)Kevin L.
(5)Emma M.
One of the best Thai food I've ever eaten. The Pad Thai is really really good & the staff is super nice :) Highly recommended!
(5)Julieann D.
(5)Leanne A.
(3)Guy B.

So umm... I always get medium spice when I get thai food. I got pad thai to go, and it is way to hot. I cant finish it all. I will have to remake it tomorrow. Kind of defeats the purpose of take out. Oh, and the lady was not very nice at the front either. Maybe I will go back and have a better experience

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I've been going since shortly after they opened about a year ago, and it just keeps getting better. My favorite is the green curry (medium spicy), and I love the house salad dressing.

Enjoy!
